Llama Hasa by Mirasol
100% llama fiber, this yarn is silky, soft and uber warm!
Recommended knit in the range of 3.5 - 4 sts/inch on US 9 - 11, each skein has 109 yards.
A nice tight ply to this yarn should make it more durable and less prone to pilling.I knit the pink hat using just 1 ball. Because llama and alpaca don't have the crimp that wool has and that gives it elasticity/memory, I knit the knits tbl (thru the back loop) in order to give them a little twist and add structure to the hat. So it has some structure, but still the lovely stretch that a k1p1 hat has!
Sharing all the same characteristics of alpaca that we love - softness, greater insulating power compared to wool - llama is also a great option for the accessories we want next to our skin -such as the colorful zigzag shawl shown in the gallery left!
Think of this as Heriott Great (which everyone loves) alpaca by Juniper Moon, but with a bolder and brighter palette. So if you want uber soft in a more subdued palette, check out Herriot Great. For brighter colors for your cowls, hats, scarves, etc, choose Llama Hasa.
