Alpaca Classic by Rowan
This 57% alpaca/43% cotton yarn is a great choice for a lightweight sweater that is warm and cozy without being bulky under coats or too hot to wear indoors! It is a "blown in" yarn construction which allows for greater yardage for the weight of fiber. For example, most d.k.-sport yarns would have the same yardage as this yarn in a ball twice the weight!
Joany just finished knitting the 3 color yoked design (Lupinus, from Ravelry) shown in the gallery of photos left, and it is divine! So soft and cozy, but really lightweight. If, like me, you don't enjoy wearing a dense or bulky gauge sweater anymore, this is a great yarn to consider for your next project. Lots of great 3 color options to choose from too!
It is recommended knit at 5.5 - 6 st/inch on a US 5-6 needle - each ball has 131 yards.
