This acrylic, wool and alpaca blend yarn knits at a chunky gauge of 2-3 sts/inch and is machine washable!
Soft and quick to knit, this may be your go-to yarn for those chunky patterns this year! The "Perky Little Hat" pattern from Ravelry is shown in the right sidebar - the model is knit using a different chunky yarn at the store (obviously, since it is hand-dyed!), but it gives you a popular project idea for 1 skein of this yarn!
For another chunky knit yarn that is also machine washable like this one, check out Encore Mega. It is a bit less expensive but has less yardage and no alpaca in it.
