The colors are gently dyed ( which the manufacturer tells me means in as environmentally friendly a way as possible, which includes that they take pains to ensure no by products are left over after dyeing-which for those of you who are familiar with hand-dyeing, this means that they completely exhaust their dyebath- which I assumed the industry did, but apparently not!).. The fiber is grown organically. Each skein has 120 yds and the yarn is recommended to be knit at 5.5 sts/in on US 6. As is typical with the Sublime line of yarns, there is fantastic pattern support for this yarn in the books offered below. The top shown left is from this year's cotton book, 623, and the little girl's cabled cardigan is from last year's book, 611.On the far right is a pattern from this year's baby book, 612. Each book is full of great patterns for kids to adults and some cute cotton knits for boys too.
