This 100% linen yarn from the Katia Concept line features a really long and "gentle" ombre of color over the course of 820 yds!
Yes, that's enough in 1 ball for a lovely shawl or scarf. And for some sizes, enough for a sweet short sleeved top for the summer (I saw a lovely example of one knit up on Ravelry under Soft Lino projects - it was called Cascata)
The scarf (color 608) and shawl (color 608) shown below are crocheted and the patterns are free with the purchase of the yarn. In the last photo of the shawl in color 608 I photographed the garment on the table so you could see the 7-8 different colors in the sequence better - click on the photo to enlarge it.
And if you're interested in stitching - whether on felt, eco prints, handknits, handwovens or quilts - this yarn is great for that too! My friend purchased a ball of color 606 and wound it into the distinct gradations and is using it to add stitching to a piece of felt she made for a wall hanging. I've added a photo to the right sidebar showing how many distinct gradations there are in each ball - even if it may look as if each is only 3 colors, where the 3 colors blend together for a while you get some really lovely additional colors - look at the photo of 606 broken down!
For another 100% linen that is not a gradient, but is hand painted, check out Ollagua.
And for one that is solid colors, check out Shibui's Linen.
The manufacturer recommends US 4-5 needle.
Price per skein: $45.00
