Now the beautiful variegated colors of Noro yarns in a finer weight yarn that can be used for socks (it does have the bit of nylon for extra durability), scarves, gloves, wristlets, or finer weight sweaters. And I crocheted it above for a fanciful neck ornament (pattern sent with order). This Kureyon sock yarn is 70% Wool and 30% Nylon. One skein has 460 yards and is enough to make one pair of socks. The label says "hand wash" but my sister just threw a pair ( shown left above knit in color 184) in the washing machine and they did not felt on a cool. gentle cycle. In fact, they lofted and softened up considerably (as many of you know, Noro is not the softest yarn in the ball, but it lofts and softens with washing/blocking). The customer who knit the sock shown center above was very pleased with the colors but found the uneven spinning of the yarn (some areas thinner or thicker than others) unsatisfactory, whereas this is exactly why other customers like this yarn. The shawl shown above took just 1 skein and the pattern is a free download. I've also used this yarn (and the Silk Garden Sock) to knit up the Swirl shawl pattern.
