This Kureyon sock yarn is 70% Wool and 30% Nylon for a fashionable, warm, and hardy sock. One skein has 460 yards and is enough to make one pair of socks. The label says "hand wash" but my sister just threw a pair ( shown left below knit in color 184) in the washing machine and they did not felt on a cool. gentle cycle. In fact, they lofted and softened up considerably. One customer got 3 socks (a pair and a spare) from 1 skein, but don't count on this...its just that some of the skeins have considerably more weight than the others. Because the different weights of each skein has been an issue for the company nationwide (some skeins are reported to have less than the industry acceptable 100gms +/-, I weighed the skeins I have in stock and none fell below the industry acceptable limits of 100+/-gms, but several were well over. The customer who knit the sock shown center above was very pleased with the colors but found the uneven spinning of the yarn (some areas thinner or thicker than others) unsatisfactory. I knit the scarf above (click on photo to see a close up of the undulating drop stitch pattern). It took 1 skein and measures approx 8" x 56". Price: $18.95/sk
