This 100% wool from Plymouth features a rustic, more homespun look like the popular Eco Wool Bulky from Cascade. But at a slightly finer gauge.
Featuring 191 yards in each skein, it is recommended at 4-4.5 sts/inch (Eco Wool Bulky is good at 3.5 - 4). Offered in a lovely range of natural sheep colors as well as several nice dyed colors, it is a great value at $8.50/sk.
The hat shown below took just over 1/2 a skein. It is the Able Cable hat from Ravelry. We made it a deep hat, so if you choose the 3 repeat option in the pattern you may well get 2 hats from 1 skein.
The poncho pattern below is written for Homestead and it takes 4 or 5 sks...depending on size. The pattern is available for sale at the store.
I also have introduced 5 of the Tweeds - they are a bit more per skein, but offer a different range of colors and that popular classic "fleck".
For another "tweed " yarn option, check out and Arranmore Light for a lighter gauge!
The gorgeous sweater shown in the right sidebar is the pattern Big Love from Ravelry and it took just 6 sks of Homestead for a 44" chest.
If you'd like this same yarn at a slightly larger gauge, check out the new Homestead Hearty!
Price of the Regular: $9.99
Price of the Tweeds: $10.99
