NFAC Kettle Dyed Merino Yarn
This 100% merino yarn is "superwashed" and I hand dyed here in an ever changing range of highly saturated colors. Many of my mixes have a luster - almost irridescence- to them that you may not be able to appreciate from the photos but that is often what the locals who see the yarn say about it. Unfortunately, I had to "lighten" a few of the photos so you could distinguish the dark colors better and that really washes out what the actual colors look like! I'll try to get better photos next time!
Lovely to knit and work with, I recommend it at 5.5 - 6 sts/inch, but depending on the stitch you could well get away with 5/inch and be happy with the fabric.
I designed and knit this mosaic cowl below. The pattern is free with the yarn purchase, or you can buy the pattern (it will be sent by pdf file to you) separately. The cowl only uses 200 gms of yarn, but if you want to play with color as I did, then you need 4 colors - and then you can knit 2 cowls! Or just use 2 different colors and let the different patterns be the interest. The blue shawl took 2 sks and is a free pattern from Ravlery. called Herald.
