Clover Felting Mat If you're interested in using a felting needle to applique yarn, fiber, or fabric swatches to hand knit or felted bags, you'll need a surface to felt into. I've used sponges (leave the needles in these and they'll get rusty), pink insulating board (this seems to dull the needles faster but its great if you're doing a big wall hanging), and foam from the craft store, but this neat little mat is great. It's easy to store and is readily portable. Fits right inside a felted bag or beneath a sweater. Price: $18.00 This works really great! I find it provides a much better/firmer surface onto which you can embellish than any sponge, foam or insulation board that others use. Highly recommended.
